Behind the scenes: New Collection shoot

On a particularly cold and wet day earlier this year I had the pleasure of working with some very talented people on a photo shoot to showcase my brand new 2015 wedding hair accessories collection.

While the freezing temperatures may not have been ideal, our gorgeous model Ksenija was a real superstar - even when she was forced to shrug off her jeans, dressing gown, work boots, shawl and hot water bottle in less-than-perfect conditions to ensure we got the look we wanted!

The new collection includes ethereal floral vine pieces which are designed to trail across the hair and so I decided to include a floral backdrop on some of our pictures to reflect this more natural, relaxed botanical feel. As soon as I’d decided on the look I knew exactly where to turn - to Anna Potter from Swallows and Damsons whose work I have admired for years…and somehow she totally got my ‘twiggy florals’ brief!

Make-up artist Alex Jones (below left) created three different beautiful looks which worked perfectly with hair stylist Alison Jenner’s work. For the hair we went for natural loose waves followed by a soft and delicate unstructured up-do - both of which looked amazing with the new designs.

Of course we needed an incredible photographer to pull together everyone’s work into a series of stunning images - and so I turned straight to India Hobson. This was the fourth year in a row that we have worked together on my new collection photo shoot -and this time India was also able to provide the setting for our shoot, the amazing Sheffield studio space and venue 156 Arundel Street which she has been helping to renovate and is already proving to be a major success story! India always produces the most beautiful images and we both agree that this is our best shoot yet - although you’ll have to wait a little longer to see the full results!

I hope you’ve enjoyed taking a look behind the scenes of the 2015 photo shoot - and that you like what you’ve seen so far of the new collection. The 2015 collection launches early next month on my website - keep an eye on my social media pages for more information.
